i've been MIA for a while now and I feel obligated to let you all in on what's been going on in the
yadrick house...not really sure to peeks at this blog, but for family and friends....here it is...
let's see....
me, myself and I: I guess it was shortly after my bday when i noticed something 'different' with my body, so i informed my doctor and was instructed to get a mammogram and an ultrasound.... results: normal...so i had to have a ductogram (if interested...google it) performed... result: intraductal papillomas... So now, I have to have surgery to have them removed. I've been told by my surgeon that the surgery is outpatient and is a common procedure...stay tuned. after all this, i've developed high blood pressure (155/109) and now i'm on medication and getting a CT scan on monday to rule out Renal Artery Stenosis....stay tuned on this one too.
hubby: dave had arthroscopic knee surgery on 2/18 and had micro fractures done to alleviate the pain that he has had in his knee for a long time. From all the sports that he's played in the past, his cartilage was damaged so badly that he had to have surgery... the surgery went well and he was home recovering until he got a MAJOR cramp in his calf that just wouldn't go away...It was 4-5 days of major cramping that I insisted he call the doctor. well, he did and they immediately sent him to the hospital to get an ultrasound of his calf....sure enough, he had a clot blocking half of what they call the "dangerous" vein. He was admitted right then and there and stayed there for 4 whole days....ugh.... His blood levels hit the "therapeutic" level and he was able to come home. The clot has since dissolved, BUT he does have a smaller one in a "non-dangerous" vein. He's on blood thinners and will be for the next 3 months... Other than that, he has started physical therapy and is on the road to recovery...
the girls: compared to dave and I, they are all doing great besides a little dip into the illness going around. Instead of waiting and dealing with the cough for months and months, I immediately took them to the doctors and got them on antibiotics....I had to insist because the doctor gave me the run around about allergies and asthma....yada yada yada. They're all better!
so, i apologize for the lack of updates, but now you're all caught up.
.peace out.
