west coast.to.east coast

.it's official.

we're making the BIG move to the east coast! many of you have already heard the news, but I wanted to make sure all of you are updated. Dave received orders to the National Maritime Intelligence Center (NMIC) for two years. In layman's terms, NMIC is a joint military command (Navy, Marines, & Coast Guard) responsible for the coordination of maritime intelligence.

we are planning our move for June and hoping to spend some time with family and friends before our BIG road trip. We'll be taking the historic Route 66, so if any of you have any suggestions on sights to see or restaurants that are yummy...please share!

Mr. & Mrs. Smith...I mean, Yadrick

For years, my husband has been telling me that he would take me to the shooting range. I mean, it's been YEARS...maybe 7 or 8 years! We finally had the opportunity a couple weekends ago and all I can say to describe the experience is EXHILARATING! Boy, was it an adrenaline rush to shoot a real gun. Dave borrowed a .40 and a 9mm. I mostly shot the 9mm because it was smaller and overall an easier gun to handle. Dave on the other hand shot the BiG MaMa JaMa...just because he is an all around PRO at shooting. I was incredibly impressed at my husbands expertise...Obviously, I've never seem him in action, but I've always known he had to have been "good" at it from his past experience in the CG.

Let me add that he looked SUPER HOT shooting a gun too!

All in all, he was a great teacher (much better than he was at teaching me to golf) and I can't wait to go back!
look closely and you can see the shell just above the gun!

another action shot...the shell is at the top of the photo

my turn!

binky*LESS*

Charlotte is officially NOT a baby anymore...(sigh) As sad as that makes me I am SO HAPPY to have the binky or chupy, as we like to call it OUT OF OUR LIVES...for good! This small plastic contraption took over Char's life. Before we moved up north, it was down to a science. Charlotte could only have her chupy when she went to sleep, but that all changed when we moved. It became an obsession of hers and if  she lost it...oh boy, you wouldn't want to be around...

Anyway, we felt she was ready and wanted to get rid of the thing before we move again. Two of our good friends recently had babies and we explained to Char that the "Binky Fairy" needed her binkies for the new babies. She was thrilled at the idea that the little babies would get her binkies...until she actually came and took them! My poor baby girl was so sad and yelling at the Binky Fairy to "bring my binkies back!" and " we aren't friends anymore!" and "how could you (binky fairy) be so mean!" She finally stopped crying and yelling after abut an hour and got about a 20 min nap...

It's been about a week, and we are still a binky-less house! She still gets sad at nap time and it has become some what of a challenge (compared to a daily 2 hour nap), but she's sleeping great at night.
