Coast Guard Ball 2011

This past weekend my mom flew up to watch the girls while Dave and I went to the CG Ball.
What a night to remember!!
It was like I was in my very own fairy tale. We spent the day walking around and had a great lunch at an Irish pub, Kell's. We were the only ones eating so we had the whole place to ourselves. Then we were off to the ball... Give me any excuse to dress up and I'm in! Dave looked AMAZING...I love it when Dave gets dressed up in a formal uniform.

I had to capture this on video. She says "rollie pollie" so freakin' cute. I'm so glad my girls like getting dirty and don't mind touching bugs...ewww.

west coast.to.east coast

.it's official.

we're making the BIG move to the east coast! many of you have already heard the news, but I wanted to make sure all of you are updated. Dave received orders to the National Maritime Intelligence Center (NMIC) for two years. In layman's terms, NMIC is a joint military command (Navy, Marines, & Coast Guard) responsible for the coordination of maritime intelligence.

we are planning our move for June and hoping to spend some time with family and friends before our BIG road trip. We'll be taking the historic Route 66, so if any of you have any suggestions on sights to see or restaurants that are yummy...please share!

Mr. & Mrs. Smith...I mean, Yadrick

For years, my husband has been telling me that he would take me to the shooting range. I mean, it's been YEARS...maybe 7 or 8 years! We finally had the opportunity a couple weekends ago and all I can say to describe the experience is EXHILARATING! Boy, was it an adrenaline rush to shoot a real gun. Dave borrowed a .40 and a 9mm. I mostly shot the 9mm because it was smaller and overall an easier gun to handle. Dave on the other hand shot the BiG MaMa JaMa...just because he is an all around PRO at shooting. I was incredibly impressed at my husbands expertise...Obviously, I've never seem him in action, but I've always known he had to have been "good" at it from his past experience in the CG.

Let me add that he looked SUPER HOT shooting a gun too!

All in all, he was a great teacher (much better than he was at teaching me to golf) and I can't wait to go back!
look closely and you can see the shell just above the gun!

another action shot...the shell is at the top of the photo

my turn!
